Nigel Kuhl Part 1

This is the beginning of a three-part story referencing the the crimes that Nigel Kuhl of Ravenna has allegedly committed over the past two years. All information in these stories come straight from the applicable court documents which are publicly available. At the beginning of each story, I will include court case numbers in case you'd like to request the documents yourself.

Part 1: Case number: Buffalo County CR 19-176/CR 19-729

On April 25, 2019 Nigel Kuhl was alleged to have assaulted and strangled his significant other at their shared address on Kufus Ave in Ravenna, Nebraska.

On the night of April 25, according to court documents, Kuhl's fiancee alleged that he had struck her in the face multiple times leaving swelling, bruising, and cuts. The officer observed the following: "a bruise on the top of her nose, along with a cut on top ofthe bruise. (Victim) also had a bruise on the right side of her throat, a bruise on the left side ofher forehead just above the temple. (Victim) had a thin cut on her right side of her cheek going back to her ear. Her cheeks appeared to be red and swollen." She went on to say that Kuhl had choked her and held her against a wall.

In a letter to the court the victim, who had an ignition interlock permit at the time,  stated that she, in hopes to have the standard No Contact order removed, had known Nigel for a long time and that she would never expect this type of behavior out of him. She says that she "never wanted to press any charges or for any of this to happen."

Kuhl's bond was initially set at 10% of $15,000 for this incident. He has since had his bond revoked at least two times. The bond for this case is currently $75,000 cash.

Court records indicate that Kuhl was found guilty of 3rd Degree Assault (Class 1 Misdemeanor), 3rd Degree Domestic Assault (Class 1 Misdemeanor), and Attempt of a Class 4 Felony (Class 1 Misdemeanor). He is awaiting sentencing on these charges.
