Kearney Man Receives Prison Time For Sexual Assault

A Buffalo County man has been sentenced to eight to fifteen years, with a credit of 284 days served after being found guilty of Attempted First Degree Sexual Assault, a Class 2A Felony.

Jeremy Mashak, a 37-year-old Kearney resident, was originally charged in the Buffalo County Court in October of 2019. Though the arrest affidavit is sealed, as is common in sexual assault cases, he was initially charged with First Degree Sexual Assault (Class 2 Felony) and Abuse of a Vulnerable Adult (Class 3A Felony.)
