Bridgeport Man, Previously Facing Life + 33 Years, Out of County Jail After Serving 283 Days

James Albrecht of Bridgeport, which is in Morrill County in western Nebraska, has been released after serving his sentence in county jail.



Albrecht previously faced a life sentence plus thirty-three years after being accused of 1st-degree sexual assault of a child, 10 counts of intentional child abuse, and 1 count of strangulation.


Albrecht accepted a plea deal which turned all twelve felonies into five Class 1 Misdemeanors.


The presiding Judge in the case which accepted the plea deal was The Honorable Andrea Miller. The prosecuting attorney which accepted the plea deal was Travis R Rodak, the Morrill County Attorney. The defendant was represented by Kelly Breen of the Nebraska Commission on Public Advocacy.
